Jin Hua Sliced Fish Bee Hoon

Amidst the numerous famous hawker stalls at Maxwell Food Centre is probably the best fish soup noodle in Tanjong Pagar (and perhaps the rest of CBD). Jin Hua Sliced Fish Bee Hoon has long lunch time queues on a daily basis, and it’s easy to see why.

Their 双鱼米粉 (S$4) gives you the best of both worlds, fried and steamed fish slices. The bee hoon noodle was slightly hard at some points, but the taste of the milky soup was just right – flavourful enough yet not overwhelming for your tastebuds.

(Do note the stall aunty can be quite angsty!)

Pair your bowl of fish soup noodle with the sugar cane drink (S$1.50-1.70) from the drinks stall beside Jin Hua and complete what is a very affordable, tasty and filling lunch.
