Aside from thie wide variety of zi char dishes and har cheong gai rice, this somewhat hidden hawker/zi char stall at PSA Tanjong Pagar Complex curiously has 2 western offerings – the fish and chips, and chicken cutlet (both S$5).
Granted, these are your run-of-the-mill hawker western fare, but the sheer portion and satisfaction both bring is definitely worth it if you’re working around the area. For the price of McDonald’s Everyday Extra Value Meals or KFC’s Super Value Meals, you get the main item (fried fish or chicken fillet), fries, two types of salad (cucumber, tomato and lettuce plus cabbage and carrot slaw), a portion of egg fried rice topped with a fried egg!
Now that’s a deal if you ask me. Although the fries can get a little bit salty on occasion, there’s nothing much else you can ask for if you have a sizeable appetite and are looking for good ol’ western fare at an affordable price!
