Fish & Chicks is one of the more recent additions to the list of ‘premium’ western hawker fare, which has long been led by Astons. There is much variety on offer, with chicken available to cater to anti-seafood patrons.
The traditional Fish and Chips (S$7.30) comes with an additional side, with the above being the cheese pasta. The tartar sauce provided is slightly on the viscous side, but is certainly very flavourful – so much so that you aren’t yearning for ketchup or chili sauce.
The cheese pasta was cold, probably stored in the fridge before serving. Not that it wasn’t nice, just that the coldness was a tad surprising. Overall, the battered fish was pretty yummy, until the end, when the coating started to taste a little jelat (read: overwhelming and/or filling).
